THE BRONZE SERPENT,
THE ONE HANGING ON A TREE,
THE HIND OF THE DAWN, AND
THE BRIDEGROOM AND THE BRIDE

OUTLINE

  1. The bronze serpent:
    1. The need for the bronze serpent.
    2. The form of the bronze serpent.
    3. The bronze serpent being lifted up on a pole.
    4. The bronze serpent typifying Christ:
      1. Being made sin on our behalf.
      2. Having only the likeness of the flesh of sin but not the poisonous element of sin.
      3. Condemning sin through His crucifixion in the flesh.
  2. The one hanging on a tree:
    1. Being one who sinned.
    2. Being one who was cursed.
    3. Typifying Christ:
      1. Hanging on the tree for us who sin and deserve death.
      2. Suffering the curse of death for us sinners who deserve death.
      3. That we might receive the Spirit promised by God.
  3. The hind of the dawn:
    1. Typifying the resurrected Christ.
    2. Fresh and active.
    3. A young hart:
      1. Having fellowship with us.
      2. Coming back to meet with us.
  4. The bridegroom and the bride:
    1. Typifying Christ and the church.
    2. In His resurrection:
      1. Christ being lovely as the Bridegroom.
      2. Obtaining the church as the bride.
