  1. The tree that made the bitter waters sweet:
    1. This tree typifying the cross of Christ:
      1. To be enjoyed after a journey of three days.
      2. Christ having suffered the thirst of death on the cross on our behalf.
      3. Taking the cross of Christ’s suffering death in our bitter situations.
    2. The healing by the cross of Christ being made a statute and an ordinance for our healing:
      1. Christ’s death on the cross healing our sicknesses.
      2. If we diligently keep God’s word, we will be spared the diseases of the worldly people.
  2. Twelve springs of water:
    1. Twelve.
    2. Springs of water.
  3. Seventy palm trees:
    1. Seventy.
    2. Palm trees.
  4. The manna:
    1. A type of Christ.
    2. The unique food for God’s elect.
    3. Coming down from heaven.
    4. With the dew.
    5. In the morning.
    6. Small.
    7. Round.
    8. Like frost.
    9. Like coriander seed.
    10. Its appearance like that of bdellium.
  5. The rock:
    1. Typifying Christ.
    2. Smitten by the authority of God’s law.
  6. The living water:
    1. Typifying the Spirit as the ultimate consummation of the Triune God.
    2. The water of life in resurrection.
