THE PILLAR OF CLOUD AND
THE PILLAR OF FIRE

OUTLINE

1. The pillar of cloud:
   1. Typifying the Spirit.
   2. First being the cloud and then becoming the pillar of cloud, standing firm with strength.
2. The pillar of fire:
   1. Typifying the Word.
   2. First being the fire and then becoming the pillar of fire, standing firm with strength.
3. Both the pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire being the glory as the manifestation of God’s presence with His redeemed:
   1. Appearing as a pillar of cloud for covering by day.
   2. Appearing as a pillar of fire for shining by night.
4. The pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire being not only for guidance but also for protection and fighting:
   1. Protection.
   2. Fighting.
5. The children of Israel having the pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire leading them, protecting them, and fighting for them all the way from the crossing of the Red Sea to the crossing of the Jordan River.
