- After they sinned, having the sinful conduct, the sinful nature, and the consciousness of sin.
- The fallen Adam and Eve making skirts to cover their shame because of their consciousness of sin.
- God clothing them with coats made of the skins of sacrifices, typifying:

- That God made Christ the righteousness of the sinners who believe in Him that they may be justified and live before God.
- The sacrifices—the firstlings of the flock with their fat offered by Abel:
- Abel living before God by offering sacrifices according to God’s way of redemption.
- The firstlings of the flock which he offered, typifying Christ, who is unto God, who lives for God, and who is gentle and tender.
- The fat which he offered, being the fatness of the sheep, typifying the tender merits of Christ.
- The Christ-redeemed sinners needing to live before God by such a Christ.
- The burnt offerings—offered by Noah:
- Noah being saved by God from the old age of corruption into the new age of restoration.
- Building an altar to offer sacrifices as burnt offerings.
- This being the accomplishment of the initial types of Christ’s redemption:
- The burnt offering typifying the perfect Christ becoming a sweet-smelling savor unto God.
- That the earth might remain before God, signifying that the earth might minister to God.
- Concerning Christ’s salvation:
- The seed of the woman—the one who would save man:
- Typifying Christ, who was born of a virgin.
- To bruise the head of the serpent for man, typifying that Christ would destroy Satan.
- The ancient serpent—the one who was to be destroyed:
- Signifying the subtle one, the devil, Satan.
- To bruise the heel of the seed of the woman, typifying that Satan would hurt Christ, who caused Satan’s death.
