IN INCARNATION

  1. God's eternal good pleasure of His will:
    1. As unveiled to the apostle Paul—Eph. 1:5, 9, 11.
    2. To be one with man.
    3. Becoming His eternal economy—Eph. 1:10; 3:9.
  2. God's promise to come to be the seed of man:
    1. To be the seed of woman—Gen. 3:15; Isa. 7:14; Gal. 4:4; Matt. 1:20, 16.
    2. To be the seed of Abraham—Gen. 22:18; Gal. 3:16; Matt. 1:1.
  3. The fulfillment of God's good pleasure and promise:
    1. The Word as the defined and explained God becoming flesh—John 1:1, 14a; Rom. 8:3m.
    2. To be a Man, to be one with man that man may be one with God.
    3. Tabernacling among men, full of God's grace and reality—John 1:14, 16-17.
  4. To bring God as life to man:
    1. The life of God being in the incarnated Word—John 1:1-4a; 14:6a.
    2. Coming to bring God's life to man abundantly—John 10:10b.
    3. Dying to release the divine life—John 12:24.
    4. Becoming the life-giving Spirit in resurrection—1 Cor. 15:45b; 2 Cor. 3:17-18.
    5. Entering into His believers to be their life—John 20:22; Col. 3:4a.
  5. That He may be one with the believing people:
    1. To be one spirit—1 Cor. 6:17.
    2. In the organic union of the divine life.
    3. Making God and man one person, signified by the true vine—John 15:1:
      1. The two coinhering—John 15:5.
      2. The first living in the second—Gal. 2:20a.
      3. The second living in the first to manifest Him—Phil. 1:20-21a.
