JESUS TASTED DEATH FOR MAN

Scripture: Heb. 2:9

  1. The end man deserves
    1. The end man deserves is death.
    2. Man’s death sentence came from sin.
    3. Since man lives in sin, his end shall be death.
  2. Jesus tasted death for man
    1. Man’s death has its source in his sin. When Jesus tasted death for man, He bore man’s sin.
    2. That Jesus bore man’s sin meant that He received the punishment for sin. That punishment was death.
    3. Describe how Jesus tasted death for man, how He was forsaken by God, and how His heart melted like wax. He suffered the burning of the fire of God’s wrath. These experiences are tastes of death.
  3. The results of Jesus tasting death
    1. Man’s sins were forgiven.
    2. Man has been freed from the suffering of death.
    3. Those who believe in Him do not perish and will be resurrected if they die.
  4. How to receive the effects of Jesus’ substitutional death
    Develop this point.
