CHAPTER TWO
THE SECOND STEP OF GOD’S SALVATION IN LIFE-TRANSFORMATION

OUTLINE
- The definition of transformation:
- Not merely a perceptible change outwardly in behavior.
- Being a metabolic transformation inwardly in essence.
- The steps of transformation:
- Washing-the washing of regeneration-Titus 3:5b.
- Sanctification-the sanctification of the Holy Spirit-Rom. 6:19, 22; 15:16.
- Renewing-the renewing of the Holy Spirit-Titus 3:5b:
- Beginning from our mind-Rom. 12:2a.
- Through our spirit, which is mingled with the Spirit-Eph. 4:23; Rom. 8:6b.
- Reaching all the inward parts of our being.
- A metabolic process-transformation-Rom. 12:2a.
- Not accomplished in an instant.
- But achieved throughout our entire life-2 Cor. 4:16-17.
- The way of transformation:
- By fellowshipping with the Lord without any barrier-with unveiled face beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glorious image of the Lord-3:18a.
- The advancing-from one degree of glory to another degree of glory-v. 18b.
- Being transformed into the same image of the Lord, even as from the Lord Spirit-v. 18c.
- By remaining in our spirit and exercising our spirit-2 Tim. 4:22; Phil. 4:23; Gal. 6:18.
- The issue of transformation:
- Growth and maturity in the divine life-Eph. 4:13b; Col. 1:28.
- Arriving at the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ-Eph. 4:13c.
- The purpose of transformation:
- The building up of the Body of Christ-v. 12.
- The accomplishing of God’s eternal economy-3:9.
- The ultimate transformation:
- The transfiguration of our body-Phil. 3:21.
- The glorification of our body-Rom. 8:30.
- The ultimate redemption-v. 23c; Eph. 1:14; 4:30.
- The full taste of the divine sonship-Rom. 8:23b.
